A little bit more about me..
My name is Susan and I am the baker behind the brand.
My absolute favourite thing in the world is my dog, Buffy. (Sorry to my marketing manager, Denny)
I enjoy hot temperatures.
Until I’ve travelled abroad, the west coast is my calling.
I could live off of potatoes and chocolate, and dessert is my favourite course.
I am a self-taught baker who eventually went to school for baking. I started out baking for family and friends for birthday celebrations. I realized that my parents’ preferred cake is the one they sell in Chinese bakeries. So I set out to replicate it. On this journey, I found chiffon cake to be the answer.
I was so poorly equipped coming out of high school that I had no idea what I wanted to do in life. I did what many do and chose to study business. If you know me, you know that I am quite introverted, so business was an absolute no-no for me. I dropped out of two programs before I decided to study baking. Not as a career choice, but to learn new skills and pick up more efficient techniques to apply to my own recreational baking. I wanted to enjoy my time in school studying what I love, and I achieved that.
I applied my new-found knowledge and learned an abundance more working at a bakery until my graduation in 2018.
What started off as an online portfolio of my recreational baking has officially become the Chiffoning In Love you see today.
